  • What’s the difference between Inkless Stretchmark Revision (ISR) and Camouflage?
Camouflage and Inkless stretchmark revision are both types of body modifications that involve changes to the appearance of one's skin. However, there are many key differences between the two procedures. In the context of addressing skin imperfections like stretch marks and scars, both "inkless revision" and "camouflage" refer to techniques aimed at improving or camouflaging the appearance of these concerns. However, there are many key differences between the two procedures and offer unique results: A) Inkless Stretchmark/Scar Revisioning (ISR or Inkless Stretch Mark/Scar Revision): This technique focuses on stimulating the skin's natural healing process without the use of pigments. A medical grade serum and a tattoo machine with specific needles helps break down the skin tissue or scar. This induced injury to the skin stimulates collagen production, aiming to reduce the appearance of the stretchmarks or scars without pigments. 1 to 4 sessions are recommended dependent upon desired results, and the healing time is between 4-6 weeks. The longevity of the results varies depending on many factors, such as a person’s immune system, metabolism, sun exposure, and products used on the skin. Average results last 3-7 years prior to needing touch-up. The ISR treatment provides permanent results, as we are repairing your natural skin texture and pigment. B) Camouflage: Camouflaging involves using pigments to match the skin tone and cover up the appearance of stretchmarks, scars, vitiligo patches, and other skin discolorations effectively blending them into the surrounding skin. Camouflaging may require 1 follow up session for optimal results

However, everyone heals differently, and depending on the severity of your stretchmarks, sometimes you will need 2-3 sessions to get your desired results. If you suffer from hyperpigmentation, you are looking at longer healing times, up to 90 days. Taking care of the treated area with the correct aftercare products will help to produce better results.
  • How long do the results last?
Nue Conceal is semi-permanent, which could last anywhere between 3 to 7 years depending on the person's skin rejuvenation, immune system, metabolism, sun exposure, and products used on the skin. As the human skin color changes over time. As we age, our body produces less melanin, the protein responsible for human color. This causes our skin to get lighter as we age. Hence, making the treatment less permanent will minimize the risk of uneven color and discoloration. However, Average results last 3-7 years prior to needing touch-up.
  • What does the healing process look like?
There is no downtime, but you will experience redness and swelling immediately after the procedure for the first five days. • How many sessions will I need?
We recommend two sessions to start, and we can always increase up to 5 sessions if needed to achieve desired results; however, most clients are happy with their results after just two sessions.
  • What happens when you tan?
When it comes to exposing stretch marks and scars to the sun, tanning without camouflage can be detrimental for their visibility. The ultraviolet rays of the sun will not cause the tones of those areas to change, resulting in them becoming more noticeable. Therefore, when we camouflage them, the base color of these spots is blended into the same hue as healthy skin. This way, even if they don't tan during exposure to sunlight, they will appear less visible than if nothing had been done. When the person loses his/her tan, these camouflaged areas will remain unchanged since they were never affected by rays of sunlight in the first place, thus providing a consistent combination with their surroundings. Given that many people choose to include tanning in their beauty routine, it is important to consider that not all skin types react the same way under UV rays. To reduce visibility of stretch marks and scars while enjoying a golden complexion at the same time, camouflage can be an excellent option as they provide a natural-looking solution that complements your look. Not only do they ensure even skin tone throughout your body but also provide additional protection against further damage caused by sun exposure.

  • Is the treatment suitable for all skin types?
Generally, yes! However, there are a small number of people who the treatment would not be suitable for. • Will it hurt or do you numb your clients?
The Stretch Mark Camouflage Tattoo is a penetrative skin procedure so a small amount of discomfort will be experienced. Usually on a scale 1-10 (10 being most painful), the average consensus is a 6 or 7. We do not numb our clients to avoid any interference to the purity and insertion of pigment into the scar. However, we can numb if needed on a case by case basis. In addition, your pain receptors will be heightened if you’re on your monthly cycle, and so we suggest you book your session/touch-ups accordingly.
  • Laser treatment VS Stretch Mark/Scar Revision??
While Laser Treatments do work on stretch marks by damaging the skin’s outer layer and forcing it to heal itself, they do not put color back into the skin. So almost all clients who get laser treatments for their stretch marks still have noticeable stretch marks. In fact, many of our clients have had many laser treatments prior to visiting us. Another huge difference is the cost of laser treatments, laser treatments could run $1,000 to $3,000 per session, and can easily end up costing the client over $10,000 overall.
  • What is the difference between over the counter serums and medical grade serums?
Our medical grade serum is made with higher potency and concentration of active ingredients. They are designed to penetrate and affect the deeper layer of the skin while over counter mixed serums are formulated to only be applied on the surface of the skin. The inkless stretch mark/scar revision requires some opening of the skin created by the needles of the tattoo machine. This makes the medical grade serum penetrate the deeper layer of the skin. Using over the counter serums can lead to irritation, infection, and prolonged hyperpigmentation. Our medical grade serum only gives us better results, but it also reduces the healing period of the treated area. The healing period is 1-3 months with our medical grade formulation. Some healed results were reported as early as 1 week, and the longest reported healing was 6 weeks.

  • What is Permanent Makeup ? Is it Really Permanent ?
Permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing is a revolutionary cosmetic technique, and one of the most sought-after cosmetic treatments of today. It involves permanent pigmentation of the dermis. It’s achieved by inserting colored natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. It produces articulate designs that resemble makeup. Permanent Makeup procedures are considered permanent because pigment is tattooed into the upper reticular part of the dermal layer of the skin and can not be washed off. However, as with any tattoo or pigment in general fading does occur, requiring periodic maintenance such as annual color boost after your second touch up session. It’s Semi-Permanent and the procedure can last between 1 to 3 years, depending on how you maintain your tattoo, lifestyle, skin type and health condition. With permanent makeup you can enhance your brows, eyes and lips to add more definition to your face, boost self-confidence and overall make your life a little easier and feel your best all the time
  • What’s the Difference Between Microblading vs Nanoblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo manual technique in which a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to deposit pigment. This technique causes more trauma to the skin. Whereas, Nanoblading also known as machine Microblading is performed with a permanent makeup machine that uses ultra-fine nano needles to deposit pigment into the skin to emulate hyper realistic looking strokes that mimics the diameter and dimensions of real hair, which causes less trauma to the skin. Both are suited for clients with normal to dry skin.

  • Does Permanent Makeup/ Cosmetic Tattooing Hurt?
With each procedure we numb throughout the procedure for your comfort. We have found that procedure preparation is a key factor directly related to a person’s comfort level AS WELL AS the final outcome. When clients communicate with their Artist and follow the Pre-Care, the experience is a positive one. To minimize discomfort: ● We suggest planning your tattoo when not on or expecting your menstrual cycle. ● Avoid NSAIDS and Omega three supplements- typically 7 days pre and post-treatment. (Seek healthcare guidance pertaining to your health & safety) ● Avoid alcoholic beverages ( 24 hrs or 48 hours prior) ● Avoid exercise the morning of your treatment. ● Observe the appropriate amount of time after a surgery or laser treatment near your tattoo site. ● Ensure there are no infections or skin irritations present.
  • Will I Still Need To Tweeze, Wax or Thread ?
Yes! Permanent Makeup does not interfere with your hair growth.
  • How Long Does the Procedure Take?
All procedures are done in two sessions. The first takes 3 to 4 hours. Six to eight weeks later, the client returns for the second session for touch up/perfecting session, this takes 2 to 3 hours. We start each session with a full in-depth consultation to go over your eyebrows, eyeliner and lips goals. For brows we measure to create perfect symmetry based on each client's own facial proportions. Next up, we draw the outline so you can first approve the pre-drawn shape before we get started. After you fall in love with the shape, we begin the tattoo procedure. For Lips we map your lip to fix any asymmetry. We believe in an open communication throughout the procedure and will constantly be checking in on you and allowing you to see the progress that way you feel a part of the process.
  • Do I Get to See the Design Before it’s Tattooed?
We draw all of our techniques beforehand except certain eyeliner techniques where we follow the lash line. We want you to be happy with the eyebrow, eyeliner and lips we are creating for you. A drawing will depict the size, placement, and curvature but it does not mimic the exact color, texture, or minute details within the tattoo itself. There is a measure of trust when working with your artist in order to come up with a design that works. As professionals, we want to guide you in the right direction. The vast majority of the time we are able to come to a design that both the Artist and client agree upon. To ensure you are happy with the shape, design, and overall color (even if not exact) you will have several opportunities to see your design and make adjustments. If you have any reservations about the tattoo you are getting it is your responsibility to inform your artist so the changes can be made PRIOR to approving your design and going forward. Once you agree on the design you will be photographed with your “thumbs up” next to your design indicating you “APPROVE”. We want clients to take part in the design and ultimately make the decision to whether or not to move forward rather than feel they need to wear something they will never like. Keep in mind, a professional artist will and should make suggestions for design. If you are not comfortable with the possibility of professional suggestions that may differ from what you typically wear, you may not be ready for tattooing. These concerns could be discussed in your consultation.
  • Why is it Necessary to do a Touch up/ Perfecting Session?
Touch up is necessary because everyone heals differently and therefore the outcomes vary. Sometimes it is necessary to adjust the color, filling missed spots and thickness. During the touch up session, final adjustments are made to assure the client’s satisfaction.
  • I Had my Brows Done by Someone Else, Can you Touch Them Up?
All new clients are required to book a FIRST session appointment. We are extremely selective when working over existing tattoos and other tattoo artists' work. If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed, we request that you email us clear photos of your brows for approval. It is not considered a touch up if the procedure was not done by us. Please email us (hello@poshbeautyartistry.com) pictures of your previous work prior to booking.
  • What are Some of the Risks and Complications with Permanent Makeup?
Proper procedures and precautions are used to ensure safe procedures. Sterilized tools and disposable tools are used in a sanitized environment. When pre and post care instructions are followed the risk of complications are minimal. Allergic reactions to pigments are very rare, but sometimes occur. For this reason, a pigment patch test for those with sensitive skin or to topical makeup products, gold , silver, nickel, or hair dyes should be patch tested a few days in advance before the procedure.
  • What if I Don't Like the Results?
Having a clear idea of what you like or what you don't like and being able to clearly communicate this to your artist will help your artist make sure the end result is something you are extremely happy with. It's a collaborative process between you and the artist when deciding shape, style, and color. The process involves checking in with you, taking into consideration the shape of your face, how you wear your makeup, and what you personally want. You will always have a say at every step, so there's no fear of ending up with something you're not fully satisfied with or didn't agree to.
  • Can I Have Eyebrows, Eyeliner and Lips On The Same Day?

However, You’ll want to be prepared for each procedure, this is something you’ll want to plan for to ensure your experience is an easy one. There may be specific instructions for the particular treatments you will be getting so be sure to contact us by phone 571-336-7571 OR Email us at hello@poshbeautyartistry.com
  • What is Dark Lip Neutralization?
Dark Lip Neutralization is a specialized treatment series for those with cool or dark lips in which we neutralize the darkness in the lips to reach a desired color. It is a gradual permanent makeup procedure that implants ink to even-out lip tones and brightens naturally darker lips. This procedure neutralizes the cool tons in your lips and creates an even tone across the top and bottom lip for an even lip tone. Three or more sessions are required for this procedure to see desired results, each session is spread out at least six weeks apart. Dark lip neutralization is a procedure that requires patience, but it’s one of the most rewarding. Each session is spread out at least 6 weeks apart. It may take 2-3 sessions to achieve your look, and there are special cases in which additional sessions are needed. Typically, dark lip neutralization is recommended for clients who are Fitzpatrick Scale 3 and up.

ResulThose who have had recent cosmetic injections to the facial area. A 21 day wait period is necessary to allow settling. This wait period helps for a more positive outcome in terms of symmetry. It is a good idea to wait for your injections to settle so they are not displaced during the tattoo treatment before they have had a chance to settle. Lips- We suggest having lips filled after cosmetic tattooing for the best symmetrical outcome. We love the combination of both tattooing and lip filler! • When Can I return to Work after my Eyebrows, Eyeliner and Lips tattoo Procedure
Facial areas are pretty quick to heal and most clients get back to work the next day. If you work in an environment where you are exposed to biohazards or work in a sterile environment you may not be able to attend work for safety reasons. Swelling for facial areas tends to last anywhere from one to four days depending on if you are having brows, eyes, or lips worked on. Discuss expected time frames with your artist. Once swelling has subsided the skin will begin to shed and may be a bit itchy. The shedding of skin lasts about two to four days and can look like a severe case of dry skin in that area. We provide ointments which will be comforting and soothing but will not remove the dead skin. Unfortunately, this is one part of the process you cannot speed up, but it is short lived. It is essential to not pick or rub the excess skin off to help it along. This will remove pigment and cause scarring.
  • How Long Can I Expect My Eyebrow, Eyeliner and Lip Tattoo to Last?
Tattoos fade from several factors including: sun exposure, topical skin care products such Retinol, hydroxy acids etc, medications for thyroid, iron-deficiencies, unique metabolic activity, and the type of treatment performed. For example a soft and subtle eyebrow treatment will not last as long as one packed with color. Softer techniques look more natural but also need more maintenance in terms of touchup. After your second session ( touch up/ perfecting session) we suggest touch-up applications anywhere from 1 to 3 years before a complete re-do is needed. We classify touch-ups as faded color that has a neutral undertone. If the color shows imbalanced tones (pinks, grays, etc) there are other factors that are contributing to this fading and a single touch up may not be enough to redirect the color back to the original application. In this case two sessions may be needed.
  • What Activities Should I Avoid After my Permanent Makeup Procedure?
After any permanent makeup procedure, you should avoid any activity that includes sweating. So, no working out, visiting saunas, sitting in the sun. No swimming also, water can damage your freshly done procedure or any other permanent makeup procedure.
  • Can I Wear Makeup After My Procedure?

Once you’re done healing you can resume wearing makeup though you will not really need it anymore!
