Aftercare

WHAT TO EXPECT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TREATMENT?

  • The treated area(s) will be red, swollen, and perhaps even a little tender to the touch. This is normal. Do NOT sleep on the treated area(s) until the swelling goes down, it will subside over the next few days.

  • The next day, the swelling will subside, but the area will remain red.

  • After 72 hours, the redness will turn into brown pigmentation. This hyperpigmentation may last anywhere from 7 to 45 days.

  • In the next 4-6 weeks, as your skin heals, your scars will go from a bright red to a dark red and a brown color and eventually back to your natural skin color. This is a part of the healing process, do not worry and trust the process.

  • During healing, you will experience dryness, scabbing, and flakiness. Please do not pick or scratch as you may compromise the healing skin.

  • The healing process is different for everyone, typically 4-8 weeks; however, some skin tones prone to hyperpigmentation can take up to 3 months to fully heal.

  • During the healing, if you experience a pain increase or develop a fever, please notify us immediately and see your primary care to ensure it is not an infection or allergic reaction.

  • As long as the treated area is still darker than the skin, it is not yet fully healed.

  • Achieving the best possible outcome may require 2 to 4 sessions, depending on your skin
